Gold grade 0.585

In our workshop, we only use gold of 0.585 (14K) grade, higher grade: 0.750 (18K) available on request. We do not make products with lower grades: 0.333; 0.375; 0.416; 0.500.

585 gold, also known as 14-karat gold, is one of the most commonly used gold alloys in jewelry. The designation 0.585 refers to the content of pure gold in the alloy, which means that 58.5% of the total weight of this alloy is pure gold. The remaining 41.5% are other metals that are added to improve the strength and durability of the gold, as well as to give it the right color.

In the case of gold of lower fineness, the gold content in the alloy is lower. Gold of lower fineness is definitely less durable and less valuable (0.333 fineness is only 33% gold in the alloy). Such gold deteriorates faster, may discolor, and its sale price in scrap is more than twice lower than gold of 0.585 fineness.

Advantages of 585 gold:

1. Strength and durability - Thanks to the addition of other metals, 585 gold is much more resistant to scratches and damage than pure gold (24-karat), which makes it an ideal choice for everyday jewelry, such as wedding rings, rings or bracelets. When buying jewelry from other manufacturers, we recommend avoiding buying lower gold grades, delicate products with low grades, the low price of which tempts customers of large brands, are the most frequently sent for repair. Unfortunately, it often turns out that the value of the product is so low that its repair is unprofitable.

2. Color - 585 gold retains a characteristic, warm shade, which is valued in jewelry. It can be found in various colors, such as yellow, white or rose gold, depending on the type and proportion of added metals.

3. Value - Jewelry made of 585 gold has significant material value, compared to jewelry from lower grades, the purchase value of which is not adequate to the value for which such jewelry can be sold.

585 gold is commonly used to produce a variety of jewelry, including rings, wedding rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings. Due to its durability and aesthetics, it is a popular choice for wedding rings, which must withstand everyday wear for many years. 0.585 gold is an excellent compromise between high gold content and practicality of use, making it a favorite choice for both jewelers and customers looking for durable and beautiful jewelry.

Diamond or cubic zirconia wedding ring?

In our workshop, there is the possibility of choosing whether you prefer to make a wedding ring with diamonds or cubic zirconia. Which is better?

The price of a wedding ring with diamonds will be higher, but diamonds are worth their price. A wedding ring is a product worn every day, exposed to many damages when performing basic activities. Diamond, as the most durable of gemstones (10 on the Mohs scale), works perfectly in wedding rings. Thanks to its durability, it is more resistant to scratches.

Cubic zirconia is less durable (It has a hardness of about 8 to 8.5 on the Mohs scale) and although at the beginning of wearing it may look the same as a diamond, over time it will scratch and lose its "shine". It is possible to replace it, but this involves an additional cost of the setting.

If the budget allows it, we encourage you to choose diamonds instead of cubic zirconia, especially in the case of wedding rings, where the durability of the stone is crucial. Diamonds provide durability and elegance for many years, and their appearance remains unchanged. What's more, diamonds retain their value, which makes it easier to sell them in the future.
